Grass pile height, that is, the height of grass yarn, it is the height of yarn from the base backing to the terminal, measured in mm. The height of artificial turf is generally ranging from 8mm-50mm, while the height of MTGRASS can be achieved in the range of 8-60mm.

Artificial Grass Dtex

    The quality of artificial grass decided by the specifications, which include Dtex, Pile Height, Density, Gauge, Backing and Coating. Today we will explain the Dtex.

    Dtex refers to the quality of the fibers. It means the weight of one single fiber with a length of 10000 meters. There are normally 4 / 6 fibers in each stitch. Normally Dtex for artificial grass are 8800Dtex, 10000Dtex, 11000Dtex, 13000Dtex, 16000Dtex, etc.

    The Dtex directly affect the quality of artificial grass and also the service life. Generally speaking, fiber with a higher Dtex will be thicker and better performance of wear-resistance.

Artificial Grass Backing

The backing is one of the most important parts to test the quality of artificial grass. Qualified backing guarantees longer lifetime of the grass. Weaker backing will be easily broken under rainy days, and the yarns knitted on it will be fall off too.

The backing according to different use normally including 3 types: PP+ non-woven cloth+net, PP+PP, PP+net. For football grass, MTGrass uses PP+ non-woven cloth+net, to ensure the higher tensile strength.

      Coating and backing together are becoming the base of artificial grass, they are critical for the grass’quality. The coating normally are SBR latex, PU and our special ERET.

      SBR latex coating can be combined with several backings, including PP+non-woven cloth, PP+net, and PP+non-woven cloth+net. These combinations are common and durable.

        PU coating is more durable and environmental friendly, most importantly, it can make the tensile strength of the grass more higher.
